Wonderful Krabi (25-28 June 09)
We went to Krabi as per planned last year. Suppose to go in group of 4 but HHH and Charmaine couldn’t make it due to his new job. However, we still proceed to the wonderful Krabi.
Day 1
At LCCT in the morning, not much people wearing mask but we don’t give a damn to others, thus we wore it for our own safety. Flight delay for an hour, so lepak at old town before flying!
Once arrived at Krabi Airport, we took the shuttle bus to our hotel (150 baht/pax) since we were not rushing to do anything. It took about 40 mins to reach the Ao Nang area, about 3 mins walk from the junction to our hotel. If you like to walk around, suggest you book those near the shopping street like Sunset hotel, Beach Terrance hotel. Use
We stay at Aree Tara Resort. Hotel room was awesome, modern designed and the view to the swimming pool (upgraded to deluxe room, probably due to off peak reason, but why not upgrade us to deluxe pool access?).
After shortwhile, we went out for walk, eat, shop, take pics and discover the Ao Nang beach. Managed to book the Phi Phi Island hopping from the agent next to our hotel. The environment there was similar to Penang, Batu Ferringgi. Near beach, shopping street like Petaling Street, lots of restaurant served western food, local food gotta look for "dai chao", cheaper. :) 4 types of shop easily found at Ao Nang.
1. Mini market (7-11 and the rest)
2. Massage (everywhere)
3. Pharmacy
4. Tailor
We were at Ao Nang beach to see sunset, managed to take some nice pics. Since we lazy to walk out again, we took dinner b4 back to hotel. Ordered local thai food, tom yam seafood soup, fried vege and 2 pandan coconut. Food was ok, just abit salty. Tom yam was normal, anytime more worth than what we had in Bangkok..
Day 2
Had American breakfast. 1st day breakfast was ok, sausages, ham, salad and omelet. Limited side dishes to choose, like fried hor fun, fried egg, toast bread and cornflicks. After breakfast, wait for the agency to pick us for island hopping...
Arrived at jetty, depart to Phi Phi island. 40 mins speedboat ride to Maya beach (didnt see Leonardo Dicaprio). Maya beach was awesome, the scenery was good, water is clear, relax environment. Took some pics will zoom lens of cos, and then jump into the sea since it tempting!
Next station was snorkeling.. luckily life jacket was provided else will br drowned. Water is so clear and can see whole bunch of fish swim around us. Few ppl feeding the fish and we can see clearly under the water.. starting felt abit 'geli-geli' when the fish came near, but afterall will get used to it.. :) refer to brochure, the coral were nice and colorful, but we only saw dark color. either the coral is dead, or next time bring along the torch light and dive underneath to take pics..

Its lunch time, had it at the phi phi island, buffet style. food was so so only, everything taste salty, maybe had too much sea water.. after lunch, had about 30 mins free time, took quite alot of pics at the beach..of cos wont post up those voyuer photos.. :p (sorry melvin, no pics for u)
Continue the journey, now heading to open sea for 2nd round of snorkeling.. didnt take any pics during snorkeling. The last station was the Bamboo island. We have about 45 mins here. Last chance to use zoom lens, can took few 'nice' photo but wont post up here.
Back to jetty, almost a day for this trip, but doesn't feel tired.. went back hotel to take bath, and then continue look for food and shopping at ao nang street.. also booked for tomorrow half day kayaking trip.. On the way back to hotel, tried the foot massage and fall asleep...
Day 3
Same old breakfast with yesterday just that today ordered scrambled egg. 30 mins to destination by car. Once arrived, we packed our stuff into the given water proof bag, then we started the trip. No lesson for kayak, we assume we know how to do it. Indeed, we knew it when we sat on the boat. :p Slightly low tide in the morning cos we started around 10am. Follow the rest and kayak to some 'cave'. Nothing much can see except the scenery of the mountain.
Well, quite tired when we arrived to the end of the path. Rest for around 30 mins, and had some fruits provided. Then kayak back to the jetty. Now is interesting, High Tide. The sea water start to flow into the 'cave' and we gotta kayak against it. Damn hard and we use full energy to do it. Well, wave a bit rough and no chance to take any pics during the way back to jetty. Next time should invest a water proof camera. Took 45 mins to kayak back, damn! we were exhausted!
Surely get sun burnt from this trip and not recommended for sightseeing. After this trip, you will feel like the Island hopping is paradise and worth to go back again... At night, tried the thai massage and almost fall asleep too. RM20 per hour and worth it..
Day 4 - Leaving Krabi
Flight was 2pm, so didnt take the shuttle bus which need to wait around 930am. Had the boring breakfast again, back to room to pack our stuff. Took a cab to airport and reach back home around 8pm. Probably next trip will either back to Bangkok, or go Redang for snorkeling cos never been to east coast islands...
